आपको पता है कि इस फिल्म में अमिताभ बच्चन, धर्मेंद्र, हेमा मालिनी, संजीव कुमार जैसे बड़े अभिनेता थे। उस समय यह अभिनेता जवानी में थे। आज यह बुढ़ापे में हैं।
जब यह फिल्म रिलीज हुई तो किसी ने नहीं सोचा था कि यह इतिहास बनाने जा रही है। फिल्म को लेकर रिस्पॉन्स काफी ठंडा था, शुरुआत में इसे फ्लॉप ही करार दे दिया गया था, इसके बाद लेकिन फिर कुछ ऐसा हुआ कि फिल्म ने बॉक्स ऑफिस को हिला कर रख दिया। इसके बाद तो सारे रिकॉर्ड तोड़ दिए गये।
फिल्म शोले बनने में लगे थे 6 साल
आपको बता दें कि शोले फिल्म का निर्देशन रमेश सिप्पी ने किया था। इस फिल्म को बनाने में करीब 6 साल का समय लगा। यही कारण रहा था कि शोले फिल्म 1 करोड़ में बनकर तैयार होनी थी
लेकिन इसका बजट बढक़र 3 करोड़ तक जा पहुंचा था। हालांकि हर किसी को तब उम्मीद थी कि फिल्म बॉक्स ऑफिस पर अच्छा प्रदर्शन करेगी. लेकिन जब इसे रिलीज किया गया तो इसने सभी को निराश कर दिया।
इसके बाद तो फिर जब फिल्म की पब्लिसिटी हुई तो इसने सारे रिकॉर्ड तोड़ दिए। यह उस वक्त यूं तो फिल्म की टिकट 1 या 2 रूपये की ही थी लेकिन रिपोर्ट्स की माने तो तब 15 रूपये का बालकनी टिकट 200 रूपये में बिका था। इसके बाद तो धीरे-धीरे फिल्म का कलेक्शन बढ़ा और इसने 35 करोड़ की कमाई कर ली।

आपको रोचक जानकारी में ये भी बता दें कि धर्मेंद्र को लगता था कि गब्बर और ठाकुर ही फिल्म के बड़े किरदार हैं। ऐसे में लिहाजा वो ठाकुर का रोल ही करना चाहते थे, इसके बाद संजीव कुमार का नाम फाइनल हो चुका था. तब रमेश सिप्पी ने उन्हें बड़ी ही चालाकी से धमेंद्र को वीरू के रोल के लिए मना लिया।
उन्होंने कहा कि अगर वो ठाकुर बनेंगे तो वीरू का रोल उन्हें संजीव कुमार को देना पड़ेगा और हेमा मालिनी के साथ वो ज्यादा स्क्रीन टाइम नहीं बिता पाएंगे। जब यह बात रमेश सिप्पी ने कही तो फिर धर्मेंद्र ने वीरू के रोल के लिए हामी भर दी। इसके बाद तो फिल्म चर्चा का विषय बन गई।
